Privacy Policy

This site collects no personal data and sets no cookies. The sections below describe every piece of data that flows through this site.

What we collect

Nothing identifying. Specifically:

  • No cookies — we do not set any first-party or third-party cookies.
  • No user accounts — there is no login, registration, or authentication surface.
  • No forms — this site does not accept user submissions.
  • No PII — we do not collect, store, or transmit your name, email, IP address, or any other personal identifier.

Local storage

We store two preference strings in your browser's localStorage:

  • Font preference (a11y-font) — the font you select (Lexend, Atkinson Hyperlegible, or OpenDyslexic).
  • Theme preference (a11y-theme) — light or dark mode, if you override the system default.

These values never leave your device. They are read only by the page itself to restore your preference on return visits. To clear them, delete site data in your browser settings.

Analytics: Umami

We use Umami (self-hosted) for anonymous usage analytics. Umami is a privacy-first, open-source analytics tool. It collects:

  • Page URL and referrer
  • Browser name and version
  • Operating system
  • Screen size (not device fingerprint)
  • Country (derived from IP — IP is not stored)
  • Session duration

Umami does not use cookies, does not track users across sites, and does not create user profiles. The analytics instance is self-hosted and data does not leave our infrastructure. Umami is loaded as a single defer script; disabling JavaScript completely will prevent it from loading.

CDN and DDoS protection: Cloudflare

This site is served via Cloudflare, which acts as a reverse proxy for CDN performance and DDoS protection. When you visit a11yequitas.org, your request passes through Cloudflare's network before reaching our server.

Cloudflare processes your IP address to route traffic and detect abuse, consistent with their privacy policy. We do not share any data with Cloudflare beyond what is inherent to using their network. We have selected privacy-preserving settings (no Cloudflare analytics, no Cloudflare cookies).

Third-party resources

This site loads no third-party fonts, scripts, or stylesheets from external CDNs. All assets (fonts, images, JavaScript) are self-hosted. The only third-party network request initiated by this site is the Umami analytics script described above.

The accessible-charts page loads OpenStreetMap tiles from tile.openstreetmap.org. OpenStreetMap's tile service processes your IP address to serve the tiles. See the OpenStreetMap privacy policy for details.
